This high-end boxing gym is a fit out of an existing basement unit in the heart of the King’s Cross regeneration area. Chloe undertook the role of project architect on this commercial gym fit out whilst working as a freelance consultant for Curtis Wood Architects and establishing re:works studio in 2009. The brief was to create a new type of health club, combining the style and comfort of a private members club, with the integrity of a traditional east end boxing gym, so we worked with the existing rough concrete shell and added high end elements such as The client wanted flexible spaces for classic martial arts training, as well as dedicated areas for cage fighting and punch bag training sessions. We supplemented the workout zones with modern luxury changing rooms and saunas for members to relax in after their workout. The ground floor reception and juice bar also has a slick modern appearance, with a poured concrete reception desk and juice bar and dark oak fitted furniture. The project was completed in June 2010 by Scotscape Ltd.
